For people enjoying early retirement

Good company for your adventurous years.

A warm, down-to-earth club for people who’ve stepped back from work, not from life. Make friends close to home, catch up online, and plan trips worth talking about, from Polish lakes to warm blue seas.

Free to join. No commitment. Come on your own or bring a friend.

The next chapter

Nobody hands you a welcome pack for early retirement.

Work gave the week its shape, and a good few of its people. When it stops, the diary opens up, and so does a question: who am I going to do all this with?

You’re far from the only one asking. Around a million people aged 50 to 64 in the UK say they’re retired. This club is a warm way in: new faces, good conversation, and plans you’ll genuinely look forward to.

Source: Department for Work and Pensions, September 2026. UK, April to June 2026: 31.1% of the 3.4 million economically inactive people aged 50 to 64 gave retirement as the main reason.

What we’ll do

Big adventures, small rituals, and good people for both.

A mix you can dip into: easy days close to home, trips further afield, and friendly catch-ups online in between.

Close to home

Reasons to get together

Long lunches, walks with a proper café at the end, gallery mornings, a boat day on the river, and chess and card afternoons.

That sounds like me

Morning sun through a misty forest
Further afield

Poland, city to countryside

Kraków’s old town and the mountains beyond it. Gdańsk by the sea. Sailing and swimming on the Masurian lakes. Long dinners with new friends.

That sounds like me

A calm beach at sunset with warm, clear water
Further still

Warm seas and the odd big thrill

Snorkelling in clear warm water, a boat day in the sun and, for anyone who’s always wondered, a tandem skydive.

That sounds like me

And in between: a monthly video coffee, a trip-photos evening, and a friendly place online to swap ideas and plan the next outing.

The idea at the heart of the club

A chessboard. A boat. A swim between moves.

That’s the kind of day we’re here for: a little bit daring, very sociable, and always at your own pace.

A natural photo: daylight, a real smile, looking at the camera. Outdoors or at home, not a studio headshot.

Meet your host

Hello, I’m [First name].

Draft wording for [First name] to rewrite in her own words

I’m a family person at heart, and I’ve always believed the best days are the shared ones. [A line or two about you: what you did before, and why this matters to you]

I’m starting this club for people who’ve stepped back from work and want more from the years ahead: new friends, good conversation, and a few adventures that make a great story.

I’ll be at every first get-together. I’ll answer your messages myself. And I’ll always tell you exactly what something costs and what it involves, before you say yes.

A 60-second welcome from [First name]

To record: phone video, captions on, with a written version underneath for anyone who prefers to read.

How it works

It starts with a hello.

No big commitment and no hard sell. Just a friendly way to meet people and find out whether the club is for you.

Say hello

Join the founding circle with the short form below. [First name] replies to every new member personally.

Meet the group

Come to a relaxed first get-together near you, or an online coffee if you’re further away. No speeches, no name badges.

Shape what’s next

Vote on the get-togethers, days out and trips you’d like, then join the ones that suit you.

A club with your fingerprints on it.

Members vote regularly on where we go and what we do. [First name] then makes it happen: checking dates, prices, safety and the people we book with, and sharing the results with everyone.

Your say, a preview

Where should the first big trip be?

Pick one

In the club, votes run each month and everyone sees the results.

Choose your pace

Every day out is labelled, so you always know what you’re saying yes to.

Easy-going

Long lunches, gentle city walks, gallery mornings, chess afternoons, and boat days where the swim is entirely optional.

Up for it

Countryside walks, cycling on quiet trails, kayaking, sailing, and snorkelling from a boat for confident swimmers.

Big thrill

The once-in-a-lifetime list: a tandem skydive, a balloon flight, a zip line over a gorge. Never compulsory, always optional.

Every activity comes with a plain-English description of what it involves: distance, terrain, steps, swimming, and any limits the operator sets. For example, UK tandem skydive centres typically set a maximum weight of around 15 to 16 stone and ask for a medical declaration. You choose what suits you. If you’d like to talk anything through, or need something arranged differently, [First name] will tell you honestly what’s possible.

Our promises

What you can count on.

Clear prices

The full cost, up front, before you commit. No hidden extras.

Honest descriptions

What each activity involves, in plain English.

Small groups

First get-togethers are kept small, so everyone gets to talk.

No pressure

Join in when it suits you. Skip what doesn’t.

Your details, private

Never sold or shared. Unsubscribe whenever you like.

The founding circle

Be one of the first through the door.

We’re starting with a small founding circle of people who’d like to help shape the club. It’s free to join, and there’s no commitment.

What you get

  • Invitations to the first get-togethers, before anything is public
  • A vote on the first big trip
  • First to hear when membership opens, with the full price and what’s included

What happens next

[First name] emails you personally within two working days, then invites you to a relaxed first get-together near you, or an online coffee if you’re further away.

Membership pricing isn’t set yet. You’ll see it in full, with what’s included, before you’re asked for anything.

Join the founding circle

Free, and no commitment. It takes about a minute.

Questions

A few things you might be wondering.

Who is the club for?

People who’ve stepped back from full-time work, or are about to, and want good company and a fuller diary. Most of us will be somewhere in our 50s and early 60s, but it’s your outlook that counts.

Do I need to know anyone?

Not at all. Most people will arrive on their own or as a couple. [First name] will introduce you, and first get-togethers are kept small so it’s easy to talk.

How fit do I need to be?

That depends entirely on what you choose. Everything is labelled easy-going, up for it or big thrill, with a plain description of what it involves. If you have a question about a specific activity, or need something arranged differently, message [First name] and she’ll tell you honestly what’s possible.

What does it cost?

Joining the founding circle is free. Membership pricing will be shared with the founding circle before anyone is asked to pay. Trips and activities are priced separately, in full, before you book.

How do the votes work?

Members vote on ideas for get-togethers, days out and trips. [First name] then checks dates, prices, safety and suppliers, and shares the result with everyone, including anything that isn’t possible and why. A vote is a preference, not a booking.

Can I come on my own?

Yes. Solo members are very welcome, and when we plan trips the price for a single room will always be shown clearly.

Why Poland?

Because it has a bit of everything: beautiful old cities, lakes and forests, mountains, good food and a warm welcome. It’s close to our hearts, too. [Add a line about your own connection to Poland] Other destinations will come from member votes.

Is this a travel company?

No, and we won’t pretend to be. When a trip is on offer, you’ll be told exactly who provides each part and how your money is protected, before you pay anything.

What happens after I sign up?

[First name] emails you personally within two working days, invites you to a first get-together or an online coffee, and sends you the first vote.
